Ask me anything…Lauren Armes

In anticipation of this week’s Supper Club we sat down with Lauren, our special guest, to find out a bit more about why she started her own business in the first place and a few of the lessons she’s learned along the way…

In just three short years, Lauren Armes has grown welltodo from a lifestyle blog for Londoners looking for the latest and greatest places to sweat, meditate and eat healthily into a global resource for start-ups and established businesses in the health and wellness space.

With a brand repositioning during the second year of business, welltodo now covers industry insights, provide business advice, spotlight wellness trends, and run a host of events for startups, brand leaders and investors interested in the business of wellness.

The welltodo ‘Founder Series’ events boast high profile speakers such as Ella Woodward from Deliciously Ella, Pippa Murray from Pip & Nut and Paul Lindley from Ella’s Kitchen and Lauren’s also a regular contributor to Women’s Health and HuffPost.

You had a really successful career in the corporate world. Why did you start your own business?

I started my own business so that I can live my life on my own terms and ensure that my potential is never capped by somebody else’s opinion or rules. I want to do what I love, and also for the sheer thrill of it!

3 mistakes you made in your first year of business?

I let self-doubt consume me too much, I didn’t invest in myself, and I wasted a lot of time fearing failure instead of just giving it a go!

2 lessons you learned in your second year of business?

To outsource, and to adopt a mindset of abundance.

What part of running your own business takes up too much of your time?

EMAIL! I’m trying a new system which I’ll share at the Supper Club if anyone remembers to ask me 😉.

Best perk of the job?

One of them is not having to commute during peak-hour (nobody likes feeling like a sardine).

If your five-year-old self suddenly found themselves inhabiting your current body, what would Little Lauren do first?

She’d fearlessly pursue every dream/idea that I’m currently afraid to execute on – with reckless abandon!

You can follow Lauren over on Instagram to keep up with her amazing adventures or come along to supper and hear first hand how she’s made welltodo such an incredible success. Final few tickets available, get yours before they’re gone!
